One of the two main disciplines in DanceSport. International Standard consists of five ballroom dances performed primarily in closed hold while travelling counter-clockwise around the floor using the Line of Dance (LOD).
The five International Standard dances are the Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep.
Also called: standard, ballroom, standard ballroom.
