Floorcraft
The skill of moving around a shared floor smoothly and safely, reading other couples and adjusting so nobody collides.
Floorcraft is dance-floor navigation: steering your figures so you flow with the traffic, avoid other couples, and keep moving even when the floor is crowded. It is why the travelling ballroom dances move anticlockwise in a shared 'line of dance'.
Good floorcraft is mostly awareness and small adjustments, and it is what lets a couple dance confidently at a busy event.
