Paso Doble
One of the five International Latin dances: dramatic, inspired by the Spanish bullfight, with powerful shaping and theatrical expression.
A dramatic Latin dance danced in 2/4 time at 60–62 bars per minute (120–124 BPM). Inspired by the Spanish bullfight, Paso Doble features powerful shaping, strong posture, precise footwork and theatrical expression. Traditionally, the leader represents the matador while the follower often represents the cape.
Also called: paso.
